SU Theatre Presents 'The Laramie Project' December 7-8

By SU Public Relations

SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University’s Bobbi Biron Theatre Program presents a special production of The Laramie Project Saturday-Sunday, December 7-8, in the Black Box Theatre of Fulton Hall.

Directed by Blake Harris and produced by the Sophanes Theatre Club, curtain is 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, 2 p.m. only on Sunday.

The Laramie Project recounts a rural community’s response to the horrific hate crime of Matthew Shepard, a young gay student who was brutally attacked and left for dead in 1998. Playwright Moisés Kaufman and the Tectonic Theater Project captured the town’s response through over 200 interviews, crafting a powerful, moving portrait of a community grappling with who they are now that the national spotlight is on them. This compelling play is a tribute to the LGBTQ+ community’s resilience and the human spirit.

Tickets are $10, $5 for faculty, staff and students. All proceeds benefit the Matthew Shepard Foundation. Tickets are available through SU’s online box office.

Those planning to park on campus must register in advance for a free parking pass.

For more information call the box office at 410-543-6228.
